Meet Atiqa

Atiqa James lives in the dystopian state of Texas, where the governor sends Texas Rangers to patches of grass to protect them from “shariah law.”

Also where Islamophobic right-wing crazies bring pigs to her neighborhood, hoping to offend. Poor pigs—were they even fed, or are they just going to end up as bacon?

In between all of these laughable things, she spends her days making cheese toast for her son, steering clear of her husband’s espresso machine, doing science, and writing when she can.

She writes stories she wishes she had when she was younger. She hopes they strengthen the beauty of Iman in the hearts of those who read them.

She knows she’s not perfect, but she’s tried her best. If you’d like to share your thoughts, she’d love to hear from you.
